On 15^th November,2003 AES India Section had arranged a visit to three different facilities in the city of Pune for their members. They were 34 of them. The members gathered at a convenient spot near Mumbai Airport. A 35 seater bus was arranged. They were off at 8 am. After a brief halt at a “food mall”, on the expressway, the contingent reached at the gates of “ Osho International Meditation Resort ” at 11.30 am.

Devendra received the members. Three teams were formed and were led by Abhinav, Richa and Devendra himself. The members were then taken through all the campus. The different departments – the theory of meditation, publishing, the club, work as meditation, the bookstore, the living quarters, the kitchen etc made a good impression. Finally the Pyramid shaped Osho Auditorium – which was breathtaking. The ambiance was really out of this world.

The engineer, Dharma, showed all equipment for playback of the music for meditation and for the performing musicians. The performance area is treated on ceiling and the resonator panels on the back wall. The whole floor measuring 18'000 sq ft, being of very fine polished dark green marble, is very reflective. The hall can fit 5'000 people, and the acoustics are very different for a few hundred or a few thousand people. The major absorption in the meditation area is provided by an acoustic layer on the ceiling of the pyramid, which is 70 feet high at the apex. The engineering of these very special acoustic conditions was done by in-house engineer Videha. The hall is sound proof & air conditioned & equipped with the latest electronic equipment for sound playback & live music with BOSE speakers & amplifiers (by Bose India/Delhi), digital mixers & monitors from MACKIE, a digital  sound processor from SHURE &  a digital sound engine DM32 from YAMAHA as the heart of the system (sound system installation by Pace Communications, Mumbai). Video equipment for the daily Osho discourses with back projection is placed in the ceiling & not visible when not in use. Computer controlled intelligent lights produce moving light effects with changing shapes & colors on the ceiling of the pyramid to create the right atmosphere for different events (Video & special Light installation by Usha Electronics/Mumbai). The meeting ended with a playback of few sections of music especially composed for meditation.
